3/16/06 - The camp country will open on April 1st for the summer season. Power to be turned on and gates opened April 1st. The water and restrooms will not be on/open until later in the month.  (pipe freezing concern)  A port-a-john will be on site until restrooms are open.

6/2/05 - Life in Finland. A couple of writers are currently keeping a Diary of their 3 week Finland travels that is currently appearing in the Washington Post.

4/28/05 - The memorial service for George Aho will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th.

4/18/05 - George Aho passed away on Saturday, April 16th while in Florida. There will be a memorial service for him at the clubroom on April 30th. Please check back here for details regarding time. Our condolences to Billie and the rest of the Aho family.

1/17/04 - Tickets can now be ordered for the Karelian Folk Music Ensemble event March 5th.

12/13/04 - Notice about updated work hour list. - Check the list posted at the clubroom and at the sauna to be sure your hours have been posted. All cards received as of 12/8/04 have been posted to the database and are on the list. All unworked hours will be billed at $15.00 per hour and will be included with the January invoices.

1/ 5/04 - I just noticed that there is an entry in the guest book that was written by Tom Christensen on the same day that he was killed.

1/ 5/04 - Newspaper article about former Finn Camp family member Tom Christensen who was killed in Iraq on Christmas Day.

* May 1, 2003 – one of our former members (Georgia Leiviska) wrote a nice note to me which may be of interest. I included some excerpts from her e-mails. Georgia welcomes any e-mails from anyone interested in getting in touch and comparing histories.
* April 30, 2003 - Helen Mack passed away recently and the family has stated that donations to the Finn Camp Scholarship Fund in Helen's memory would be appreciated.

Feb 7, 2003 - Wayne Rentola passed away this week following a heart attack. The funeral will be up north

July 13, 2002 - Jane Teetzle passed away suddenly this past week. She suffered a stroke and massive coronary. She was only 54 years old and owned a camp on the west side.

June 24, 2002 - Arne Santti passed away in his sleep at age 87 on June 11, 2002. The family has requested donations to the DFCSCA scholarship fund in his memory.
