                                                                     BOARD NOTES

SEMI-ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING is on Sunday, October 23rd at 12:00 noon.  REGISTRATION

begins at 11:00am.   ALL MEMBERS are encouraged to attend.  Important issues to discuss and decisions to

be made for next year.  A light is served for a small donation.

 

ANNUAL FALL TALKOO – “WORK BEE”   SUNDAY,  NOV. 6TH - 10:00AM AT THE KENTTA.

ALL MEMBERS please come and help rake and mulch leaves, furniture must be stored for the winter,

the grounds must be prepared for winter and general clean-up is needed.  All ages welcome.

Mojakka and beverages served to the workers.  Bring your mulching mower if you have one.

 

POLE BARN  TALKOO on Sunday, November 13th at  10:00am to organize and clean it out.  call

The Board is accepting applicants for the Caretaker position.  Please send a written statement before the

October 16th Board meeting if you are interested in applying.

  

REMINDER for CAMP OWNERS

Camp Country closing is October 31st.  ALL CAMP OWNERS  are reminded to winterize their camp by

storing outside furniture and equipment , securing awnings and doors and clean-up and dispose of all

debris around your area.  Do not leave anything of great value in or out of your camp to invite vandalism.

Also, NO STORAGE PERMITTED of cars, boats or any large equipment.  Remove or properly dispose

of any harmful substances such a gasoline or charcoal lighter fluids.                    

 

A sign-up sheet will be at the Sauna for members who would like to run the Wednesday Sauna after Labor Day.

Earn 4 work hours.  Must clean- up after.

 

ADULT HALLOWEEN PARTY  -   Saturday, October 22  -  8:00pm  -   in the Haunted Clubroom

Prizes will be given for best costumes, scariest, ugliest, funniest, prettiest and most original.   Help to keep

the Evil Spirits and Zombies fat and happy, bring a dish to pass for the food table, we dare you!

Is your future bright?  Find out.  Tarot Card Readings will be available for $1.00.

We will have dancing with the dead until the party’s end.  Don’t be scaredy cats, get your costumes

together and come have a Frightfully, Gruesome Good Time or the Spirits will haunt your camp! BOO!

CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN FUN NIGHT!!

Saturday, October 29 – Sponsored by the Recreation Committee

5:00pm to 6:00pm – TRICK OR TREAT IN THE WESTSIDE CAMP COUNTRY!

Bring a bag of treats to pas out to all the little ghosts and goblins!  Wear a costume if you dare!  If you don’t

own a camp, haunt an empty one…..just beware!  ( Westside camps only so the children do not have to cross the road).

6:00pm – MEET IN THE CLUBROOM for treats, candy sorting, counting and eating.

7:00pm  -  ?  -  POTLUCK DINNER – Please bring your favorite dish for the booffet table! 

GAMES !     HAYRIDE !

The Bar Committee will provide the Turkey,  the Dressing,  the Potatoes.

WOOD COMMITTEE PROJECTS  will continue on the second Sunday of the Month.  Meet at 10:00am

at the Pole Barn.  Call MIKE HONKA with any questions or call him if you plan to help with the projects

29TH ANNUAL FINN FEST 2005 was another success!  The weather was excellent and so was the turnout!

There are so many people who work together to stage and manage this event. I want to thank everyone who

plans, sets up, runs and then breaks down and cleans up after this huge Event!!  There are many people who just

show up every year and do an excellent job! A few key people need to be recognized.  Special thanks to WAYNE

JOKINEN and his Bar Committee;  GREG PELTO, CHRIS and LISA SANTTI and their Kitchen Crew;  JEFF

PYPE and his Baseball Crew;  EDWIN ELKHILL on Parking;  Wixom V.F.W. /  American Legion Color Guard;

TAMMIE KING, our Caretaker;  DICK PYPE, DENNY SENNHEN, and TODD PYPE who work tirelessly

and fill in wherever needed;  ARNIE SODERHOLM, STEVE NIEMI and JACK LEVOSKA who provide our

Stage Music and Entertainment.  It’s always a joy to work with people who already have their hours in and still

pitch in and work hard for the sake of our Finn Camp!  Next year is our 30th Anniversary of Finn Fest!

Look for special meetings and plan on being a part of next years  Celebration!!

A Big Hello and get well quick  to ARNIE SODERHOLM after quad bi-pass surgery shortly after Finn Fest.

 

TRASH RULES :  Please do not leave large, unsightly items laying on the Caretaker lawn or near curb. They must be put

behind the fence and then set to the curb after 5pm on Tuesday nights for Wednesday pick-up.  You are responsible

for putting items out on time.  Please make arrangements with a local member if you cannot be here on Garbage Eve

night .   NO TOXIC ITEMS such as paint, batteries, etc.  and no unbundled wood or large carpets and no wet heavy items.!  Thank you for following these rules.
