                                                                     BOARD NOTES

 

 

The SEMI-ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING is on Sunday, October 29th at noon.   Registration begins

at 11:00am.  All members are encouraged to attend to discuss and vote on important issues.  A light lunch

will be served for a nominal donation.

 

WORK HOURS CARDS must be turned into the Board by October 31.   There is a $15.00 late fee for Work Hours

Cards turned in late per a motion that passed at the 2006 Annual Meeting.

 

ANNUAL FALL TALKOO – WORKBEE-  Sunday, November 5 at 10am  at the Kentta

Calling all members to come and help prepare our grounds for the winter season. Lunch and beverages  served to

workers.   We must store tables , benches and chairs in addition to leave mulching and general  clean-up.

All ages welcome.

 

 

 

  

FINNISH-AMERICAN ALL STAR PERFORMERS – Oct 7  -  Saturday  -  7:00pm  -  Dancehall                                           

Four of the Upper  Peninsula’s legendary master of  Finnish and Finnish-American music –

LES ROSS, SR., playing harmonica in traditional Finnish American lumberjack style,

OREN TIKKANEN, guitarist, award – winning musician and columnist for new World Finn,

RANDY SEPPALA, percussionist, including spoons and rhythm bones, and

WIL KILEPLA, accordionist, named “Master Folk Musician” – MSA Traditional Arts Museum

    -together, in concert, for an exciting evening of extraordinary talent!

(All Stars are also performing  at the Purple Rose Theater’s opening of “Escanaba in Love”)

 

Enjoy a LUMBERJACK SUPPER after the concert!

ANNUAL HARVEST DINNER  -  OCTOBER 15  -  SUNDAY  -  2:00pm

The Bar Committee would like to invite the membership to join us in our Annual Harvest Dinner Potluck. 

.We will provide the turkeys, mashed potatoes, stuffing, salad and entertainment.  Please bring your

appetite and a vegetable dish or your favorite dessert to pass.

Prizes for the Best Costumes,  Scariest, Ugliest, Funniest, Prettiest and Most Original.

Frightful Food for all.   A Dish for the food table would be appreciated by the evil spirits..

CHILDREN’S HALLOWEEN FUN NIGHT  -  OCTOBER 28  -  SATURDAY

5:00pm to 6:00pm -  TRICK OR TREAT IN WEST SIDE CAMP COUNTRY

Bring a bag of treats to pass out to all the little ghosts and goblins!  Wear a costume if you dare!  If you don’t own a

camp, haunt an empty one…..just beware! ( West Side Camps only so the children do not have to cross Loon Lake Rd)

6:00pm -   MEET IN THE CLUBROOM for Treat/candy sorting, counting and eating.

7:00pm - ?  -  POTLUCK DINNER  - Please bring your favorite food for the booffet table!
