Message from the Board

We would all like to open Finn Camp and enjoy this weekend at the beach but Finn Camp must follow the law. Everyone has a different comfort level with the current situation and we must remember, this won’t last forever. Please be kind to one another.

As per the current executive order 2020-92:

-All public and private gatherings of any number of people occurring among persons not part of a single household are prohibited.

-No person shall conduct business operations that require workers to leave their homes except to conduct minimum basic operations.

-Minimum business operations include maintaining the value of inventory & equipment, care for animals, ensure security, process transactions (payroll), facilitate other workers to work remotely.

The typical duties of a beach manager are not consistent with minimum business operations for Finn Camp and therefore the Sun Lake Beach cannot be opened at this time. We are unable to just leave the Gates open without a Beach Manager as this is a huge liability for us all.

The Executive order allows for individuals to leave their homes to engage in outdoor recreation activity. While the gate to Sun Lake will remained locked until further notice, any member can use their gate key to go down and enjoy it. Picnic tables and other furniture have not yet been put out. The sauna building will remain closed. If you open the gate, you are responsible for closing it. If you don’t lock it behind you after entry, you are responsible for who comes in. The grounds are expected to be used only by members at this time until restrictions are lifted. Everyone is expected to follow the social distancing guidelines as defined in this executive order. The outdoor bathroom will be opened on Friday, May 22nd and cleaned daily. Thank you for your cooperation.

Board of Directors

Covid-19 Update

The board has decided to provide a limited opening of the camps starting on Friday, May 1, 2020. Two individual bathrooms on the West Side will be open, and the caretaker will clean those each day, as well as making cleaning supplies and disinfectant available at the site. Power to the camps will be turned on as well. The camp gates will remain open.

Members are advised to adhere to appropriate social distancing measures and all laws and guidelines issued by the governor. A limited stay-at-home order remains in place until May 15. The governor’s order allows travel to and from a second home, which we interpret to include DFCSCA camps.

For the time being, the bar and sauna will remain closed, and all activities are postponed or cancelled. The board continues to meet weekly via Zoom to discuss Association business and to discuss when or whether activities can resume. Our next meeting is Sunday, May 3.

Covid-19 Update

The Board of Directors met this morning and determined that due to the governor’s extended order, the Finn Camp will remain closed. The Annual Meeting and Talkoo will be postponed to a later date. The Board is asking that all members follow the state guidelines within the order so that the DFCSCA remains in compliance. We thank you for your cooperation.

Forest management committee on April 19 also been canceled.

Covid-19 Update

 Dear DFCSCA members and families,

Covid-19 Update

The Board would like to thank you for your patience and support as we continue to navigate unprecedented times during this evolving public health matter that has brought about many changes and uncertainty within a matter of a week. We realize how the membership and their families value the connection they have with the Finn Camp. There is simply no other place like it for enjoyment, wellness, and sense of community.

In the best interest of all our members and families, the Board has decided to temporarily close all DFCSCA facilities due to this public health crisis our community, state and country is currently dealing with. This closure is in effect Monday, March 22 through Monday, April 13. The board will review this temporary closure on April 5th, as this unprecedented public health crisis unfolds.

We value the safety and well-being of all of our members and their families, which is why we are taking these unprecedented steps to help keep everyone safe. We appreciate your understanding and hope we will be back to normal operations in the very near future. We hope you and yours stay healthy and safe during this public health crisis. Take care and be well,

DFCSCA Board of Directors
