Doris Kangas, a long-time Finn Camp member and resident of Farmington Hills, Michigan died March 20 at the age of 83. Doris was a former Livonia schoolteacher, owner of the Bioplat farm in Farmington, a health food advocate, activist, writer, farmer and poet. She organized community clean-ups before the green lifestyle was cool. Doris often displayed her animals at a petting zoo for Juhannus and Finn Fest. Doris is survived by a brother, Chuck, from Glendale, Arizona, and former members Doug and Carol Cline of Flatrock, Michigan. A memorial service is planned for 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Unity of Livonia Church. Potluck luncheon to follow at the Church.
