The festival is quickly approaching! Mark your calendars to come out and support this major fundraising event. Get some hours worked, visit with fellow members and friends and cheer on the Finn Camp’s Voima softball team!
Friday kicks off the festival with the kitchen and beer truck opening at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Home Run Derby starting around 6:30 p.m. Come see the big hitters knock ’em into the woods! We will continue the evening with music and dancing in the Clubroom!
On Saturday the kitchen will open at 8:00 a.m. for breakfast with food available all day in the Ravintola or the food tent. The softball tournament also begins at 8:00 a.m., with games on our George Aho Memorial Field and the Gilbert Willis Park fields. Flag-raising ceremonies by the Wixom VFW post will be at 11:00 a.m. We will have music and entertainment from the Dance Hall porch plus 50/50 raffles, the pitching booth, dunk tank, horseshoes, bocce ball, face painting and the sale of Finn Camp and Finn Fest merchandise throughout the day. Save some energy for the dance floor with our DJ playing all our favorites in the Dance Hall.
Sunday we will do it all over again! The kitchen will open for breakfast at 8:00 a.m. with food available all day. Softball will continue on all three fields with the championship game on the Finn Camp field in the late afternoon or early evening, followed immediately by the trophy presentation. Music, raffles and other activities will continue as well. Many members are needed to work in all areas throughout the weekend, especially in security and the kitchen. As a member of a cooperative association, please participate by giving a few hours of your time to pitch in and help make our festival successful!
