Jack Levoska

Jack Melvin Levoska was born December 3, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan to Donald and Elma (nee Komula) Levoska and died March 11, 2014 at age 71.

Beloved husband of 37 years to Arlene. Loving father of Thomas (Angie), Bryan, and Jack (Elizabeth) Levoska. Dear brother of Robert (Monica) Levoska. Cousin of Norman (Elaine) Kokko. Brother-in-law of the late Karen Kokko, the late Don Kyser, and the late Darlene Earnhart. Uncle of Kurt, Kris, Karie, and Melissa. Also survived by many extended family members, loving friends, and his grand-cat Warlock (“his Grayness”).

Jack was an avid Red Wings fan who was well-known in the local area for his guitar-playing and singing. Jack was very proud of his Finnish heritage and had many connections to the large Finnish community of the Upper Peninsula.

He was a former Finn Camp member. Jack was a guitar player and singer in a de facto house band at Finn Camp in the 1990s. Steve Niemi, also in that group known as the Finn Hoppers, recalls Jack and the group playing for such events as Christmas dinners, St. Urho’s, Juhannus, and Finn Fest.

Memorial service from Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 340 North Pontiac Trail (3 blocks south of Maple Road), Walled Lake Saturday 3:00 PM. Friends may visit 2:00 PM until time of service. Memorial contributions to the Michigan Humane Society appreciated.

  1. Very sad. Those of us who played music with Jack, on the porch, have missed him since he & Arlene moved to FL. Next jam won’t be til we meet him again in Heaven.
