Juhannus

Our annual Juhannus celebration will be held on Saturday, June 21. We will be building on the success of last year’s horseshoe tournament that included youth as well as adults. Dancing to traditional Finnish music will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Dance Hall. The kokko (bonfire) will be lit at 10:00 p.m. The kitchen will be open Saturday from noon to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Sign-up sheets for kitchen work hours are at the beach. Juhannus buttons for grounds admission are $5 for adults; children 18 and under are free. We will also have a 50/50 and a raffle: tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Raffle prizes are first prize, a 26-inch Panama Jack Comfort Cruise Bike (value $165), second prize, a Tiki Torch Package ($50 value) and third prize, a Canopy Folding Chair ($40 value). The drawing will be June 21 at 8:00 p.m. in the Dance Hall. You need not be present to win. All proceeds go to the Juhannus Committee. Raffle tickets are now on sale in the Clubroom, or see Mary Barie. Many hours of work are needed to make this event a success.
