Juhannus Celebration

Juhannus2016

Our annual Juhannus celebration will be held on Saturday, June 18. Bring the family out early for games, dancing, food and prizes! Fun for all ages! Let’s bring back the Finnish classic “carry your wife” (or significant other) race! We’ll have a horseshoe tournament, boot toss, bag toss and other outdoor games while the kitchen is open. Feel free to bring your own games. Dancing with basic instruction to live traditional Finnish music will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Dance Hall. Please join us to learn and practice the Finnish classics, and show off your skills at the kokko (bonfire). It will be lit at 10:00 p.m. Get your groove on to DJ Kerry in the Dance Hall Saturday evening. We will have door prizes, raffle prizes and a 50/50 drawing. The drawings will be that day at 8:30 p.m. in the Dance Hall. All proceeds go to the Juhannus Committee. The kitchen will be open Saturday from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 8:00 to 11:00a.m. Juhannus buttons for grounds admission are $5 for adults; children 18 and under are free. Many hours of work are needed to make this event a success. Contact Amber Martin or message Finn Camps facebook page to donate prizes or to schedule work hours. We need someone to run the horseshoe tournament. Stay tuned for updates!
