It’s time for the festival and with everyone’s help and support it will be another fabulous weekend at the Finn Camp!! Make plans to come out to work some hours, visit and catch up with members, family, and friends and join us in cheering on our Voima Boys softball team!!
The festivities begin on Friday, Aug 13th with the kitchen and beer truck opening at 5pm. The Home Run Derby will get started around 6:30pm. Come out and watch the big hitters knock ‘em into the woods!! The DJ will be getting the dance floor moving in the Clubroom beginning at 9:30pm.
On Saturday, Aug 14th the kitchen will open at 8am for breakfast with food available all day in the ravintola or the food tent. The softball tournament also begins at 8am with games on our “A”field and the Gilbert Willis Park fields. Flag raising ceremonies by the Wixom VFW post will be at 11am. There will be music/entertainment from the dancehall porch plus 50/50 raffles, the pitching booth, dunk tank, a round-robin horseshoe tournament, bocce ball, kids’ activities, and the sale of Finn Camp/Finn Fest merchandise all day. Save room on your dance card for Saturday night beginning around 9pm with live music in the Dancehall!!
For Sunday, Aug 15th the kitchen will open for breakfast at 8am with food available all day. Softball will continue on all 3 fields with the championship game on the Finn Camp “A” field and trophy presentation in the late afternoon/early evening. Music, raffles, and other activities will continue as well.
This is our major fund raising event and many workers are needed in all areas through out the weekend. As a cooperative association, please give a few hours of your time and pitch in to help make our festival successful! Work hours signup sheets are posted at Sun Lake Beach.
